Minister Charles Miller enters the gospel music market with a mission, a purpose and a love for God. In 1991 God called on him to go out and evangelize using his gift of music. Being an obedient son, Miller answered the call by organizing the group: Minister Charles Miller and Purpose. The group performed in churches throughout the South, gospel conventions, festivals and revivals while continuing to minister in prisons and street ministries. Now known as Minister Charles Miller and the Songs of Purpose, the group is fast gaining national attention. Several large television ministries have taken notice and have invited them to perform on their shows. Gospel fans nationwide have heard Miller and the Songs of Purpose on BET's Bobby Jones Gospel show, Vicki Winan's Sensational Soul as well as local shows such as Nashville Gospel, The Oris Mays Show and The Sonlight Broadcasting station.
Charles Miller is a native Memphian. He grew up in and out of foster homes due to unstable family situations. At the age of 14, while Miller was living with his mother who had recently become very ill, he formed a strong bond with the woman hired to care for his mother. It was through this friendship that Charles came to know the Lord. Charles began singing with the youth choir at Full Gospel Tabernacle at the encouragement of his pastor, the Reverend Al Green. Miller and his family are currently members at New Growth In Christ Christian Center in Memphis under the leadership of Pastor Sidney P. Malone.
Miller has a versatile style which contains elements of Blues, R&B, Jazz and Gospel. This enables him to practice his ministry wherever and whenever the opportunity arises. "Let's Show Some Love" is Miller's first release with Ecko Records and his second is underway. He devotes himself full-time to his music and is currently performing in many regional and national venues ranging from festivals to television, to concerts and conventions. He can be seen annually at Shirley Caesar's Gospel Convention each July in Raleigh-Durham, NC. He can also be seen at the larger Gospel and Blues festivals in the country.
