Alma Brown & the A-One Gospel Singers

Alma Brown and the A1 Gospel Singers was formed in 1982 with original members being Alma Brown, her husband, her sister, a brother and a cousin. In between the years of 1982 and 1985 several members came and went. In 1982, Joyce Richardson and Pam Franklin joined the group. The group played host to and performed with artists such as Pastor Shirley Caesar, Albertina Walker and The Williams Brothers. The group split in the mid 1990's and regrouped in 2000 with Alma, Joyce and Pam and adding Carl Arnold. The group has performed at concerts with artist such as George Dean and G4, Harvey Watkins and the Canton Spirituals, Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC's and Doc McKenzie and the Highlites. The original group recorded their first record in the early 1980 entitled "Paradise". In November 2008, the current group released their first CD project also entitle "Paradise", recorded by Spearhead Productions and produced by Ray Spears of Pine Bluff, AR.

Alma and A-One is a family based group that consists of: Alma Brown - lead vocalist and manager Carl Arnold - (Alma's brother), lead vocalist and background vocalist Joyce Richardson- (Alma's niece)-background vocalist Pam Franklin-(Alma's god-daughter)-background vocalist Brandon Richardson - (Joyce's son) - lead guitarist Ray Cook - (Alma's co-worker) - lead guitarist Steve Franklin - (Pam Franklin's brother) - bass guitarist Jeremy Edwards - (Pam Franklin's son-in-law) - drummer Tremaine Pearson - keyboard Alejandro Harris - pianist Anita Alexander - organist

Alma, Carl and Joyce are originally from Earle, Arkansas. We grew up listening to George Dean and the Gospel Four and becoming big fans. George is such a humble and down to earth man that we were fortunate enough to get to know him personally.
